Very nice - 1961 Velocette Venom **Black in Dallas, TX

Very nice 1961 Velocette Venom 500. 1961 Velocette with installed new 12 volt system including new dynamo, electronic ignition, electronic regulator/rectifier, new battery, new wiring (with separate grounding conductors added). Installed a toggle off/on switch between the battery and horn. What a nice difference with these upgraded electrics. Newly rebuilt motor with new crank bearings, new oil pump, new valves (put new piston and rings in about 2 years ago), new 20 spring clutch assembly (bearings, chainwheel, plates) , new primary chain, bearings, new exhaust pipe and muffler, replated many fasteners, new seat foam and cover, new stainless steel fenders, new fender stays, new rear chain, new front tire, new front rim and new front spokes. New rear rim. Rear tire looks new but has checking and should be replaced if you plan to ride. The tire is a 4.00-19 Dunlop K70. Replaced many small parts that were showing age such as upper handlebar clamps, brake and clutch levers, decompressor lever, tank kneepads and more. Upgraded to Amal Concentric carburetor with K & N filter. Many parts powder coated gloss black. I am not the original owner so cannot verify if this is the correct mileage, but it seems like it should be more.Starts easily, great running, smooth shifting, riding and great looking bike. It does drip oil, not bad, but just normal. Just enough to want to put some newspaper under it in the garage. They all drip some.Everything is not new. The paint on the main frame, swingarm, fork legs, tank,swingarm and some smaller parts is original and is not shiny like the powder coated chain guard, toolbox, primary cover parts, engine brackets and other small parts. Still has the Velocette "lady" decal on the frame headstock. The covers on the rear shocks show age. The speedometer face is a bit faded but is a nice working Chronometric speedo. There is also a very small ding in the front mudgaurd, top and almost center.
